In The Beginning muses on the origins of life, the sticky entanglement of early life forms, forms that are found in all of nature including ourselves. Light and water both things essential for life play a big part in this work metaphorically and on the surface of the glass, is now set in place but was once fluid. The changing light refraction and shadow that moves as the earth circles round the sun bounces back to become another layer of the painting.
